Oil & Natural Gas
Desiccants play a crucial role in the oil and natural gas industry by helping to remove moisture from natural gas, ensuring its purity, and thereby, improving its overall quality.
One of the main uses of desiccants in the oil and natural gas industry is through solid desiccant dehydration. This process involves the use of solid desiccant materials to remove moisture from wet natural gas. Wet natural gas is passed through towers full of solid desiccant, where the desiccant absorbs the water vapour, leaving behind dry natural gas. This method is widely used for dehydrating natural gas through adsorption.
Liquid desiccant dehydration offers certain benefits over other conventional systems. It involves the use of liquid desiccant technology to remove moisture from natural gas. This process helps eliminate condensation on the interior surfaces of the equipment, preventing the growth of fungi and bacteria, and avoiding potential health issues.
