CONTAINER STRIPS

  • Introducing REACH COMPLIANT AND DMF FREE Desiccant in container strip / packets for moisture protection in export packing. It is Calcium Chloride base product.

Acceptable all over the world for protection of various products susceptible to moisture in export and also protects from container sweating / inhibits the formation of mold, mildew, rust and corrosion / prevents cartons and labels from moisture damage / environmentally safe and can be disposed of as normal waste. Particularly in export shipments the quality deteriorates due to moisture, as during sea voyage the humidity is almost 100%. main property of I-Dry® is to absorb moisture prevent or coming inside the containers and thereby it controls humidity.

I-Dry® container strips/ packetsare a specially formulated desiccant product, non-toxic, harmless, odorless, PCP free chemical designed to lower the humidity inside shipping and storage containers.

Normally goods are packed inside carton boxes, drums, crates, wooden pallets, plastic bags etc. prior to loading into the container for shipment. Once in transit, the goods can be adversely affected by sudden changes in climatic conditions. often container rain occurs on the inner walls and ceilings of the container caused by temperature variation. Condensation may also be caused by a number of other external and internal factors like moisture content of pallets, container ventilation holes, crossing climatic zones during transit and the process of loading the containers in humid environments.

    Recommend In 20 ft container – 10 kg (25 pcs X 400 gm) and in 40 ft container – 20 kg (50 pcs X 400 gm)

    HUMIDITY PROBLEMS

Whenever goods are moved from a hot climate to a cooler climate, condensation will occur because warm air holds more water than cold air. when the temperature inside the container/box is lowered the air will reach the dew point and the water will condense. This is when fungus, mold and mildew occur, damaging the goods. Worse yet, if the water condenses on the surface of metal products corrosion occurs.

CHART SHOWING AIRS ABILITY TO HOLD WATER AT VARIOUS TEMPERATURES AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY.

If a container is loaded during high temperatures and the relative humidity is about 80%-90%, then the possibility of condensation occurring is substantial when the temperature is begins to drop. Desiccant bags help keep the dew point temperature below the actual temperature, even when the actual temperature drops within the shipping container due to temperature fluctuation. "Dew point temperature" is the temperature at which water vapor begins to condense onto a surface forming liquid water. The liquid that results inside a container is called "Container Rain". Container rain will occur if the surface temperature of an object is equal or lower than the dew point temperature. If the Relative Humidity is lowed with the absorbing properties of Desiccant bags, the dew point temperature is also lowered, stopping Container Rain.
